American Energy’s Biggest Threat Is Biden’s Bureaucrats
The biggest threat to American energy isn’t AOC and other elected officials, it’s Biden’s unelected appointees who can make life impossible for American energy companies without any direct accountability to the American people. The hurdles thrown up by these bureaucrats are the biggest reason why energy production has dropped so significantly under President Biden and isn’t speeding back up, even as Russia’s energy dominance grows.
What the FERC?
One of the worst offenders is the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, better known as FERC. They are the government’s top energy regulator and they have the power to approve or to kill pipelines and important energy infrastructure projects. They tried to jam through a new rule that would make it almost impossible to build any new natural gas pipelines.
Sen. Machin Told FERC To Put a Fork In It
Manchin pulled no punches when he addressed FERC about the rule:
“To deny or put-up barrier to natural gas projects and the benefits they provide, while Putin is actively and effectively using energy as an economic and political weapon against our allies is just beyond the pale.”
And They Did…For Now
FERC couldn’t take the political pressure, so they said they would decide later. We aren’t fooled. We know they’ll bring it back when they think they can get away with it.
